Dr Ahmad, a trained forensic physician finds himself in danger because he proves that an important sheikh who killed a black burglar, was in no danger at the time. The police harass him to falsify his evidence as does Hasan, his own brother in law, and minister of justice in Sanaa. The burglar's daughter, a teenage prostitute, in gratitude to Dr Ahmad, plans her revenge against her client Hasan.

Biography

Qais Ghanem was born in Aden, at the time a British colony, now part of Yemen. He has lived in Britain, USA, Qatar, The United Arab Emirates, and moved to Canada 45 years ago. He dedicates much of his time to human rights and gender equality, and his novels, based on real or imaginary events in Yemen, are all about gender equality and human rights for all.
